Jessica Szohr For Teen Vogue
With starring roles on the hit television show Gossip Girl and the upcoming thriller Piranha 3-D, Jessica Szohr has blossomed from former child model to actress of the moment. After snagging an audition for her breakthrough role on Gossip Girl at a Labor Day barbeque in Los Angeles,Jessica made the leap to NYC in order to commit to the series. She explains that her costars have helped with the transition,
“We’re all young, and everyone was new to New York, so we’ve had so much fun. I’ve heard horror stories from other actors about egos, people who don’t get along, but we’re all friends. There are people from this job who will be in my life for a very, very long time.”
That includes current boyfriend Ed Westwick about whom Szohr gushes,
“So far it’s going somewhere good. He’s a really rad guy. He’s awesome and smart and talented and adorable, and we make each other laugh.”
In April, Jessica will make her big-screen debut in the spring-break set thriller Piranha 3-D. Filming a thriller was an obvious diversion for the actress who explained that it was easy to produce horror-flick screaming.
“When you’re working on a lake and it’s dark and cold out and you can’t see what’s underwater, it is freaking scary!”
The February issue of Teen Vogue hits newsstands on January 5.
