Rihanna Has Love for Lady Gaga

Rihanna admires Gaga's fearlessness. It isn't entirely surprising that singer Rihanna says Lady Gaga was her favorite musical artist of 2009. The two share a renegade approach to fashion, for one, as was evidenced by the bondage-inspired ensembles both sported at the American Music Awards in NovemberRihanna reportedly said of Gaga, "Lady Gaga has a very bold, fearless image and, I have to say, I have so much respect for original artists who aren't afraid to do what they do. That's what I respect the most. She's awesome."
With the release of her latest album, Rated R, Rihanna has been uncharacteristically forthcoming about her whirlwind year. She also told a reporter (via BangShowbiz) that she thinks the abuse she suffered at the hands of Chris Brown was ultimately humanizing: "Before, young girls thought my life was perfect. Now they realize it's not. Nobody's perfect. I'm living the same human life that they are, just with a more public career."
